Studies the economic law in response to ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), both substantive and procedural laws. Compares those laws to legal practices among other ASEAN countries and European Union (EU). Indicates critical issues that urgently need amendment, covering 8 aspects regarding financial market, labour legislation, structure of business entities, intellectual property, market system and competitiveness, consumer protection, settlement of dispute over trade and investment, and recognition and execution of judgement of the foreign court. Summarizes roles of courts and judiciary system in ASEAN community. Proposes 4 major recommendations to improve law and the courts’ judgement precedent.
